Congratulations to The Stardust Cowboys for their recent award! The Academy of Western Artists named Riding Back to You 2011 Western Music Album of the Year.

Biography:
The Stardust Cowboys, a Northern California based band, play a blend of Original tunes, Western Swing Traditional tunes, and honor both the Cowboys of Yesteryear & Silver Screen with songs about the Old West. Fans will tell you they are known for down home humor and enthusiastic stage energy. You’ll hear Bob Wills' Texas style western swing followed by old-time cowboy tunes. Their originals are written distinctly in a cowboy swing flavor and about living life in the hardy setting of the western country. This group stacked with song-writing talent and honorees in Western Music, has energized crowds throughout California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Montana & Canada for more than 25 years at nightclubs, casinos, fairs, rodeos, regional concerts, cowboy events and have opened for headliners Charlie Daniels, Paul Overstreet, Jessie Colin Young, Lynn Anderson, and others.  It’s not Country-Western folks – it’s Cowboy ‘n Swing and the sounds of the west in a family friendly setting!

Accomplishments:
In 2006 they were added to the Lincoln Western Music Roundup's Hall of Honor. The band’s long time fiddle players, Ronnie Elkan & Olen Dillingham, were inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame in 2006 & 2007. Both Gary & Vicki Campbell were inducted into the Northwest Western Swing Hall of Fame in 2009 together with second time honorees Ronnie & Olen. Gary & Vicki are 2010 Sacramento Western Swing Hall of Fame inductees.  Their original tune "She Loves to Dance" remained on the East Coast Top 10 Western Swing Song chart 11 months in 2007-2008.  “Honky Tonk Cowboy Blues” hit the Western Swing charts Top 10 in 2009 while the “Honky Tonk Cowboy & the Desert Flower CD” charted in Sweden. The CD and 3 of its songs hit Top 10 Western Swing charts with the 2009 CD Release of “Ridin’ Back to You”; the song “California Mountains” was named to the Top 20 songs for 2009 on the Swingin’ West music chart and remains in the top 10 for 2010; 2010 shows “Ridin’ Back To You” CD at #5 on Western Music Association's Western Way Magazine’s Cowboy Song chart and the Academy of Western Artists has placed the title song “Ridin’ Back To You” in the top 5 nominations for 2010 Will Rogers Award for Western Song of the Year; and Ridin' Back To You CD nominated for 2011 Western Album of the Year. The band’s original music is continuing to draw attention from Western Music fans & DJ's via radio stations & online sites across the United States, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark … and the fan base continues to grow.  Thanks DJ's & Band Fans!!
